When he was a hatchling, Kachex wanted to be a metalworker like his father, but being a lightning dragon, he didn't have the natural talent for the craft that Teeko did. So Kachex settled for harnessing his inner spark for something he was better suited for-- technological work. He found he was skilled when it came to solving problems with his home lair's complex electrical system. The Guardian is able to fix almost anything, from severed wiring to broken hinges to a flooded generator. Though he'd found his talent, Kachex still hadn't found his charge, so he set out from home on his search.
