DEPUTY AND MESSENGER
CLOUDNINE is, as seaweed's husband, the technical second in command of the clan; while seaweed tends to sensitive matters and paperwork he usually takes care of practical chores. his uptight, compulsively organisational nature makes zem a great candidate for being the charge of the clan's hoard and ze's heavily efficient in sorting it. perservering, tolerant, understanding, good with hatchlings, socially adept; it's hard to find a reason to dislike him besides spite.

he's also the clan's messenger, and a calm, logical mediator with a charming way with words who's the reason why belle *hasn't* needed to go to war in a century. in fact, the two seem to have a one-way rivalry; belle childishly resents zem for zeir insistence on peace, which nine mistakes for tough-love compliments.

while the state of his and seaweed's relationship is often doubted among the clan, since they're rarely seen together, the truth is the two truly do love eachother, but have little time to spend expressing it in public while still attending to their duties. nine's sympathetic, eternally patient nature defuses the explosive, grumpy fae, and the two's determination to meet their goals make them undeniably fantastic leaders.
