Do not draw attention to the ones who speak in old tongues. Your heart knows their words, and it warns you not to listen.

The Thalassa are a subspecies of Lightning Guardian who have adapted well to water, and have returned to a semi-aquatic life. They originate along the boarder of Water and Lightning, where they remain most common. It’s believed that the coastal Guardians of Lightning felt an urge to return to their watery element of origin while still remaining loyal to the Stormcatcher. Due to their affinity for the water they became isolated from other Lightning species and the continuous hybridization between them and Water dragons created the Thalassa. They are a relatively harmonious race of dragons, and possess some qualities of both Water dragons and Lightning dragons. They are thoughtful and often dabble in the ways of Seers, but are diligent and innovative like their Lightning siblings. The largest Thalassa population is found along the bleak coastline of the Shifting Expanse, were many clans have built humble villages, some are built on the land, some are constructed over the water with easy access to the submerged cities that glow beneath the waves. They use their natural electric abilities to help keep their submerged bubble homes operating properly, filled with air and stationary, as well as lit by eerie orange and blue lights. They might also create clusters of bubble villages along the walls of trenches or inside underwater caves.

Although these dragons spend most of their time near or in the water, they do not have gills like their Water flight neighbors. They can hold their breath for an astonishing amount of time however, which allows them to delve deep into the abyss in search of food and other treasures. Thalassa Guardians are excellent fishers, and use well controlled electric shocks to stun and kill their prey with relative ease.
