Biography
Optimistic and starry-eyed, Aurora is a kind-hearted tundra with a memory sharper than typical of her species. Found floating in the grotto of a near-abandoned cave, estranged dragons took in and raised the young hatchling with Juniper, a pearlcatcher exiled from his kind. Since the Tidelord has long been silent, dragons of the cave wondered if the hatchling was a message or prophecy, and named her after the dawn. Though these feelings were never shared with young Aurora, whispers travelled through the cave.
Aurora has always had a keen intuition and is often able to pick up what others are going through or sniff out a bad situation. Raised by a ragtag family of misfits and travellers, Aurora has become somewhat of the clan's heart. Fascinated by stories of oracles and of the Tidelord, she hopes for the diety's return in order to become an oracle herself and understand her own origins.
Growing up in the cave, Shadowtrace took on the role of her mentor. Although Shadowtrace acted as matriarch of the clan, everyone knows Aurora as the true foundation of their family.
Aurora has since reached adulthood, and a persistent feeling drives her to understand, explore the world, and seek out the Tidelord.
ABILITIES
Diplomacy - Although she's not as good at mediation as a skydancer, Aurora's earnest heart pushes other dragons to stop and listen. When travelling with a group or at home in her cave, Aurora is the one to stop needless squabbles.
Retention - Unlike many tundras, Aurora has a sharp long-term memory and is able to remember and keep track of relationships. With a desire to explore and learn, she has collected and written down facts in her tome. Due to the genetics of her species, she fears she may lose this retention rate early down the line. Clan dragons theorize that her mind has been touched by the Tidelord's magic.
Humor - Aurora has a silly sense of humor, and she tries to find the brightside of a situation or make jokes out of her mistakes, flaws, or hardships. When a dragon is sad, she will go out of her way to dote on and make them smile.
Intuition - Her strong sense of smell and ability to pick up on the energy of other dragons and situations makes Aurora a very intuitive dragon. In a sticky situation she may do something that seems unreasonable or foolish because of a gut feeling.
Devotion - Foolhardy, ambitious, and brave, Aurora is devoted to her endeavors till the very end. While she has a good heart, her drive also comes from a desire for recognition and to do something of grandeur.
