Biography
Fortune Teller: palmistry, tarot cards, numerology, astrology, crystal healing, herbology, aromatherapy
Does not read the crystal ball, finds that silly. Instead uses the crystal ball as a prism to enhance her own powers. Loves messing with tundras and has been known to be bribed with various mushrooms to give a reading. Depending on the type of mushroom sent, be it food, material, or a familiar with mushrooms on it, and what it looks like, affects how the reading will turn out. It also can influence the complexity of the reading, although Minthe primarily deals in treasure and gems. She has a strong fondness for Moonstones and Gems as they both are similar to her pearl --er, crystal-- ball.
Come in, come in! Come, show old Minthe what little treasures you've brought her, huh? Ohhh, beautiful. What do you want to know? Love? Success? Future? Money? It's all right here in your hands, in your soul, in the very air we breathe. Life is all around us. It surrounds us as the very essence of who we are. It shows us the way and it shows us the past. Closure, happiness, sorrow. Sit, sit, and let us look to you.
The beautiful pearl catcher was wreathed in purple-blue smoke and various birds twittered in their cages on the worn oak shelves behind her. She sat at a glorious little round table swathed in silks and candles, dripping wax like sculptures. Her fingers, heavily bedazzled with rings and wrists glistening with bracelets that tinkled when she moved, placed her treasured pearl, polished until it was nearly translucent, upon the center of the table. She leaned in, almost pressing the horn on her nose to the pearl and breathed deeply. In, blue smoke, out -- clear. In, blue smoke, out -- clear.
She took a battered deck of playing cards, red on the back, and shuffled them together. Her shrewd eyes never left contact, Payment was handed over on the table, a moonstone, large and glimmering gently, and a Dwarf Truffle familiar. It was furious at having been brought along but Minthe only chuckled as she scooped him up and placed him in an aquarium with several other of the lively blue mushrooms. The moonstone she held in her palm as she shuffled the deck with one hand. It was mesmerizing to watch her... Her movements were so fluid, it was like her hands were hardly moving. Finally she placed the moonstone right next to her pearl in the center of the table and cut the deck in half.
A love reading? she asked. Let us see what the cards say about that...
One half of the deck was altogether much smaller than the other half. She pulled two cards from the smaller half and three from the larger half arranging them in a semi-circle, radiating out from her. She took a deep breath and allowed her claws to dangle over each of the cards before turning them over, one by one. Middle first, then to the outsides...
