He was told he should be honored. That he was one of the lucky ones. But his head hurt. His body crackled with energy. His eyes could not contain the power within him, melting away his pupils, leaving him nearly blind. His vision is blurry and everything is filtered in pink. He would never see the full colors of the rainbow because of his 'gift'. His parents were so proud of their blessed son, they couldn't wait to teach him how to use his magic, but when he tried, he magic exploded out of control and he nearly killed the very dragons who loved him. He came to realize that his so called blessing was a danger to everyone around him. So he ran away. Far, far away from home. And he never made his way back. From such a young age he was forced to experience unspeakable horrors. His Primal abilities were used against him time and time again and they put a target on his back. He became an object. Something to marvel at. Something with a price on his head. He became and experiment. Something to poke and prod. He lost his sense of self, and for years he had forgotten what it was like to be a person again. He was once a guardian, but was forcibly changed into a mirror. Everything about him, save for his Primal eye were forced to change. He was freed by a miracle. Magic that was stolen from him backfired on the thief and Grim had an opportunity to be free and by the gods, he didn't let that miracle slip through his claws.

But they also vowed to protect any other primal like him. He vowed to protect the primals who were attacked or abandoned because of their abilities. He never wanted another to suffer like he did. So he formed his own makeshift clan, and one by one pick up the lost and broken to protect and heal. even though grim is no longer a guardian, he still feels the insticts of one. He suspects that Glendower may be his Charge.
