Biography

Kaaz
Justice Will Come Soon Enough

Respect. Honor. Dignity. These are all things Kaaz hold highly.

So when he found the people of wind to be aloof and carefree, he knew it wasn't for him. With the breezy air behind him, he set forth for a new place to live. He preferred to walk than fly - due to his strange affinity to prowl around and sneak with ease, perhaps - and ran into his fair share of trouble. Fights never lasted long, however, so he never really worried; as far as he could tell, he would never freeze.

Then, he found himself face to face with a very big and very angry pohip. Then, he froze like an antelope in headlights.

He danced out of the way of slow, strong attacks, but in turn didn't do much to puncture the large mammalian's tough hide; the last dozen attacks he was under wore his otherwise razor-sharp claws down to a dull, blunt, rounded off edge. His initial confusion and fear hadn't quite worked its way out of his system when he got thwacked by the tip of the pohip's tail, sending him into a bit of a paranoid, defensive fight or flight. He attempted to flee, but was grabbed by the tail by the massive animals painful jaws, and slammed into the ground with a sickening thud. The world before him swam as he lurched to his feet and bounced into a tree, sinking down as to try to be almost invisible.

His attacker - not the brightest flash in the storm - was too distracted to notice the flurry of purple and blue quickly coming up on its behind, and only realized it was under attack when they sank their claws into its thigh, blood gushing out like a waterfall of crimson. The pohip turned in fury and aimed at the unknown assailent, but was met with a mouthful of teeth against its cheek. Kaaz watched in horror and awe as the pohip was reduced to a pile of fur, matted down with blood.

He stared at the towering skydancer standing over the massacre, and he wondered what he was about to get himself into as he looked to the ground. The purple feathers on the other skydancers head shook slightly as he turned and looked at Kaaz, a miffed expression already plastered onto his face. The edges of Kaaz's vision began to darken ans the world tilted again, and he saw the other skydancer's face quickly transition into panic as he rushed forward; Kaaz only realized that he was falling after he hit the ground, stars replacing the flora around him.

He woke up a week later, and found himself being watched by a pair of frosty, yet warm eyes. The pink skydancer sitting in front of him - realizing her patient had woken up - quickly fixed her posture and smiled.

"Hello." Her jolly and relaxed voice startled Kaaz. "My name is Monah. Your wings got pretty bent after that nasty fall Krii was telling me about, so you probably should refrain from flying for a while." Kaaz looked around him and found himself in a very well carved living space, windows covered with a thick layer of surprisingly clear ice and a fire crackling in the middle of the room. The smoke found its way out through a hole in the ceiling, and Kaaz could hear the wind howling outside.

He turned towards Monah, reluctant to sound rude. "Where am I?" He asked, hoping he didn't sound too ungrateful. Monah's laugh rang like the bells that decorated his old lair, and he was filled with a sense of homesickness. "Krii brought you back to his lair, in the Southern Icefield! I hope you let yourself heal before rushing back home, your wings are very, er, broken, to say it bluntly." She mumbled, seemingly ashamed. As he opened his mouth to continue questioning her, the purple skydancer from before walked in, catching both Kaaz's and Monah's attention. "Hello Krii." Monah greeted. Kaaz nodded at him once, to signify a similar welcome.

Krii stared at Kaaz with a joyous look on his face, and familiar windy eyes met his. "Hello, my name is KriiLunAus, but you can call me Krii if you wish. Welcome to my home!"
