Biography
⚔ M O R D R E D ⚔
Herald of the Shade| Shroud Summoner | Outlier
It started off with the torches in the lair. When heads were turned and attention was taken elsewhere, the torches went out. Eyes always froze on the darkest recesses of the lair, and with this came a curtain of gloom that seemed to befell everyone who witnessed the change.
Arguably, there were many in the lair skeptical about the added weight in the air over Thunder-Arrow, more specifically the Houses of Firetouch and Lightveil. T'was no surprise that the light-emanating Houses would doubt such a thing since their counterparts in the Houses of Shadowstride and Midnight-Dreamers always thrived in the dark; for different reasons of course. But even the leaders of each house soon came to question what was happening. Now whole rooms within the lair sat clothed in shade and shadow, devoid even of the pleasures of gentle starlight. Torches could not be relit, and arcane magic seemed to fluctuate if one were in the vicinity of the dark rooms. Then one fateful night, Lady Midnight was surprisingly alerted by Sir Azkaban of an entity detected in the gloom.... Immediately, the dragons with the strongest luxomancy were called in. Among them were Lady Tahirah and her archivist Dune (from Lightveil), and Sir Mesprit with the future Archmage Mercury. Eyes shifted from the present situation to Mercury. Mesprit partially shielding the smaller fae with his wing, looking around frantically. "Is it safe? Does Raziel know about this meeting?" Midnight returned, "For the time being, she does not know. How much magic has Mercury mastered?" Mesprit swallowed his apprehension, "---All of it." Raised eyebrows ushered everyone to turn back towards the darkness. Tahirah and Dune took their place behind Mercury as the small fae entered the room. In the silence, something shifted, a whirlwind of cold air vacuumed all the heat of life. Mercury narrowed his eyes and flared his wings. Spell-summoning runes began to entwine around his body, whilst light from tahirah and Dune's wings illuminated the room to the best of their ability. Still there was nothing that could be seen. It was until Mercury's whole aura expanded into a bright orb that engulfed his body did the shadow manifest. through the translucent, pink shield of the orb, the dragons could finally see what was really plaguing their light-filled home…an Outlier. A female ridgeback cloaked head to toe in darkness gazed back at the fae, wisps of black magic and smoke wrapping around her wings. Midnith and Azkaban froze upon seeing her, for she was so absorbed in the night (far more than a Midnight-Dreamer), and yet possessed no light of life (unlike Shadowstride, who knew the boundaries of their darkness). Mercury stood his ground as the shade-encaesd ridgeback began hacking and coughing erratically,
"I…Am…Mordred…Your…Light…Is…Fading…Thunder-Arrow clan."
