Alyssum is the most recent addition to Regal's Lab staff.

Like all primal dragons he sees not in color like we do, but in his element.
If the lab is not sterile Alyssum is the first to know.
Bacterium stand out to him like colors do to us against a black/white background.

So much so that even internal infections are easily identified by him.

He did not come from high upbringing, as the primal energies expression is not limited by social inventions:

His sire serves as a Graveyard Guardian in teh Wastelands, where the guards aren't exaclty there to keep vandals out, but rather to contain any corpse-consuming bacterium that may prosper to the extent they attempt to escape their graveyard confines.

His mother serves in The Beacon of the Radiant Eye where she keeps the premises sanitary, a walk in the park for any Plague descended denizen in the bright climes surrounding the Sunbeam Ruins.
