Biography
Vaati
the Wind Sorceror
the Wind Sorceror
Prone to maniacal laughter and wind-based pranks, most of the clan is hopeful that he'll turn into a decent hard-working individual… eventually. Until then, he's happy to continue blustering around clan lands and making a nuisance of himself. Vaati enjoys going off by himself. Sometimes when he smiles and turns away, you get the sense that he's actually a pretty cool guy… but then he's flying off to go do something immature and irresponsible again. *collective annoyed sigh* Vaati joined the clan as a possible companion for Lapis, but the two were never interested in each other. This was way back when Amon - then styled Altair - was still known for being an incorrigible prankster, but after he had slipped into a black depression over his Plague heritage and touch-and-go healing powers. Vaati idolized the other Skydancer, and constantly pestered him for tips on mischief-making. Unfortunately, as Amon's demeanor rapidly took a turn for the downright terrifying, the two never managed to hit it off. Vaati soon took up his mantle of prankster, even without Amon's input, and was soon driving everyone in the clan up the walls with his flighty ways. The Skydancer's mild skill at catching insects prompted the Matriarch started sending him off to accompany Ilsabeth on gathering trips, if for no other reason than to get him out of her scales. His skill grew, and eventually Vaati formed a tag team with a Black Wolf pup he found. When hunting, he confuses and disorients prey with wind gusts, then sends in his Black Wolf familiar for the kill. Nowadays, Vaati presides over an entire pack of Black Wolves, bred for hunting among wetlands and in hot environments. He is close friends with a Tengu he met on a hunting trip, though it is more of a personal acquaintance than something to form an alliance on. Vaati is in an established relationship with the extremely tsundere imperial, Loki. What started as a rivalry over wearing the most ostentatious gold apparel, eventually developed further. Their relationship reached a turning point when when Loki gave the Sydancer a Smoky Bantam Fangar as a sort-of "maybe I don't completely despise you" gift. Surprisingly, Vaati's playfully wicked nature seems to balance out his mate's more megalomaniac bent. Together, they form an unconquerable force of chaos, unleashing an endless barrage of mischief and pranks on their fellow clan members. The two dragons somewhat accidentally ended up adopting a young Nocturne from Cyan's clan, which forced their relationship to go public. Vaati absolutely adores his adoptive daughter, Hecate. Though nothing like either of her fathers in appearance, she takes after them quite strongly in her opulence and chaotic prankster ways. Vaati will even let her run with his wolves, something he is loathe to let Loki do. |
