June 2018: A Prodigy
Born into the Light flight and dawning a different name, Babayaga had a natural thirst for knowledge. Her topic of choice was magic. She mastered Light magic at a very young age, and gained the attention of the scholar Stargazer. Stargazer and Babayaga traveled to The Observatory to further fine-tune her abilities.

August 2018: A Natural
During their time at The Observatory, Babayaga learned that it was possible for dragons to learn magic outside of their birth flight. It was a relatively uncommon practice due to the difficulty of learning even novice magic outside of one's birth flight. However, Stargazer nurtured Babayaga's curiosity and encouraged her to give it a try.

Over the course of several months, Babayaga and Stargazer traveled to each of the flights to learn their magic from willing mages. She continued to awe those around her in her ability to quickly master even advanced spells outside of her birth flight.

January 2019: The Incident
While studying earth magic, Babayaga attempted the advanced spell Crystal Hide, which if cast correctly, dawns the caster in a temporary but nearly impenetrable crystalline armor. Babayaga contracted a permanent condition related to, but much rarer than, gembond: Prismatic Crystalscales.

March 2019: Betrayal
Babayaga learned that there was, in a sense, magic of a 12th flight. She excitedly told Stargazer of her newfound knowledge, but was harshly scorned for even mentioning it. The "12th flight" was the Shade. Though she knew that dragons corrupted by the Shade were inherently evil, she believed that she could learn how to harness their powerful magic. Stargazer profusely refused to even humor the thought.
Babayaga snuck away from her mentor and broke into the restricted sections of The Observatory's extensive library. She studied for days, learning the signs of Shade-corrupted dragons and the kinds of magic they could perform. Eventually, Stargazer discovered her apprentice's whereabouts and confronted the curious snapper. In an emotional battle, Babayaga struck and killed Stargazer... or so she thought. The broken body of her mentor reanimated within moments, all of her wounds healed. It was then that Babayaga realized that Stargazer used life magic; something unique to Shade corrupted dragons.

April 2019: Corruption
Babayaga renounced Stargazer as her mentor and began her own journey, giving the aspiring sorceress freedom to pursue the dark and forbidden knowledge of Shade magic. Unfortunately, her meddling brought her upon a secret clan of corrupted dragons, but survived their attacks with her astonishing variety of flight magics. Impressed, the leader of the clan approached her and offered to teach her their ways. Babayaga hastily accepted, but discovered too late that the Shade's magic wasn't something that could be taught, only learned. In order to wield the Shade's forbidden magic, she had to succumb to his curse. It was that day that she earned her new name: Babayaga.

November 2019: A Conspiracy
Babayaga and her mate, Forsythia, conspired against Wheatley. Forsythia was sick of the passive tactics and fearful dodging of Malachite and his clan. When Wheatley's forces unsuccessfully ambushed the undead clan, Forsythia took the opportunity to assasinate Wheatley out of cold blood. With the fearful dictator out of the way, Babayaga and Forsythia began corrupting their clan with the Shade.
