We found you when I was in third grade. You had been traveling with your two brothers before a car came your way. Your two brothers were hit and killed, but you were spared. You stayed by their side for what seemed like a week, judging by the state we found you in. We took you home and you became my baby. You were so hyperactive when you were younger. You loved sleeping under Dads truck, even when you became a bit too big. You loved coming inside for the holidays, and you loved nothing more than playing out in the rain and snow.

In 2012, we knew that your time was coming. I was in so much denial. I guess I just thought you were going to live forever, but you made it through another christmas. You got to see the snow again.

In 2013, days before my 1st wedding anniversary, you passed. I ran out of the house through the back door, because I couldn't be where you used to wait for me. Hours later I returned, and I dug your grave. I sang the song I sang to you the night before you died as I dug.

It's the end of 2015 now, and I still miss you so much. I never got over or accepted you being gone. I always thought I handled grief well, until I lost you. I still cry when I talk about you, or when I write about you, like I am now. I love you girl.
