As long as there are two people in the world, there will be two different versions of what is 'right'. As long as there is darkness, there must always be light. Where there are demons, there will be angels. They are made into angels almost exactly like demons, but instead of the Shade, angels are called upon by their deity. They are blessed with incredible powers, and sent into the world to exterminate demons. But Zia was different from his brethren. He dared to believe that not all demons could be evil and as a result, was punished in a horrific manner. Afterwards, he was no longer the Zia people knew, but rather a distorted, twisted version. He was cast off from his home and sent to wander the world for the rest of his days. Being stripped of his angelic powers, Zia was reduced to a shell of his former self. Sure, he still carried powerful light magic, but it was merely a candle's flame compared to the powers he was so used to having. Having his powers taken felt like having part of him was simply gone. He barely seemed to register things around him until he took notice of a very strange pair of dragons. A pair of imperials that looked nearly identical. To anyone else, that would have been the end of it. But Zia knew better, and realized that the pair were demons. He couldn't help himself and followed the pair until they reached the clan they called home. It was here they took notice of him and, upon seeing his injuries, urged him to see their clan's medics. But they weren't the only thing that caught Zia's attention, oh no. He noticed right away the stares from a few other dragons, which meant powerful magic users. Powerful enough to see through his glamours. There was also two other... entities Zia took note of. One was a simple lost spirit that had attached itself to some of the residents of the Grotto. The other was a daemon. Zia could tell at least one of the demons had a run in with it, it just laughed upon seeing Zia before vanishing. Most residents of the Grotto consider Zia to be a very strange dragon, even when compared to other residents. He at least tries to be friendly, but comes off as a very aloof person. Many are afraid to talk to him, which makes him a bit sad. He occasionally says things about his time as an angel that make people do a double take. A few of the demons have realized just what he is, but don't know what he'll do, so they just have to sit and wait to see. As he was a Light dragon before becoming an angel, he's retained his Light powers. Although they aren't as powerful as his angel powers, he's still considered a very powerful dragon by regular standards. |
