A "Chance" Meeting
written by zafer

Your scales itch as a strange feeling grows with each step down the tunnel. Looking behind you, there is only dirt and faintly glowing crystals illuminating the tunnel with a soft golden light. Nothing else. Certainly nothing dangerous. It must be the quiet of the tunnel. You turn, ready to continue.

A tiny snapper sits in front of you, head cocked and wide, brown eyes locked on you.

"Have you come to see the lair?" She chirps. Her big brown eyes flicker to your bag then back at you. Has she blinked?

It doesn't matter what you were planning on answering, she isn't done talking. "You have to give me a shiny thing to see the lair. It's payment."

A shiny thing? Well....

Sacridite
You Accept
You reach into your bag to search for a shiny thing. You weren’t sure what this shiny thing was supposed to be. A treasure? A gem? A crystal? You pick out what you hope to be, a suitable shiny thing.

You brought the object out of your pack, ready to present it to the snapper for approval. The object glinted when the growing crystals flickered. Then, it was gone. You blinked and your head snapped to the dragoness, who happily held her prize in her maw. The stone cracked beneath her as she leaped away. She stopped, snapped her head back, and swallowed the object in one gulp.

“Follow me!” She chirped, not looking back before moving on to an opening in the stone which you had not noticed before. As you turn into the passage, the crystals slowly dim to a faint ember of gold. Now you rely on the heavy footfalls of the snapper for direction.

She leads you down a passageway, hopping all the way. The earth shutters in response to the joyful leaping of the snapper but not a piece of stone or dirt falls out of place. She happily chattered about her name and all of the shiny things she had received in the past. You pay attention best you can, but the walls coming down worry you more than her favorite shiny thing this week.

Finally, finally, there is light. Your breath leaves you as you enter the largest cavern you have seen. In the middle, a large crystal bathes the stone in a warm, golden light. You look around to see crevices you believe to be den by the way they are decorated and the occupants leaving them. Dragons of all different breeds and colors speckle the clearing. It’s peaceful. Maybe you could take a look around. Just for a bit.

You Refuse
You were determined to keep all of your items and not give anything away to tiny dragons obviously trying to shake you down. Where were this dragon’s parents? You shake your head and refuse.

The snapper’s snout wrinkled and her pupils narrowed. She huffed. “Fine,” She said, obviously pouting. The crystals flare suddenly and stronger than before. With each flare, your eyes start to sting and then water. Even closing them, you can still feel the sting and see red dots swim in your vision. Opening your eyes just a crack, you find the snapper has disappeared.

You call out. You try to escape, but with each step, the crystals seem to flare brighter and brighter until you are completely blinded by the light. You stumble on stones. The ground was not as smooth as you remembered. The earth then quakes beneath your claws. You have a second crack open your eyes. Then, there was nothing.

gvGtgNo.png FR TRICK-O-TREAT 2
Back when I had the time, ie only my second year into playing this game, I joined the in-game trick or treat and had a lot of fun giving out treats and having Pebble visit many different lairs in all of the flights. It was really fun and even some amazing people draw some images of Pebble. As always the pictures are linked to the wonderful creators.

Exalting Pebble to the service of the Earthshaker will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
