When those who have never been to the Faded Canyon speak about Lachesis, it's often in hushed tones of reverence. The speak of how she founded Refuge, a sanctuary for all those devoted, in craft or in creed. Those more fantastically inclined spin wild tales of the leader she must be, the bravery she displayed during her adventure from the Cloudscrape Crags to this canyon on the edge of Dragonhome, her talents for telling the future.

Lachesis would rather they didn't. Lach, for she prefers Lach, did accomplish all they say, but she claims the founding was more of an accident, the journey was a matter of survival, and her divining is an ability she avoids. When her position on the Council of Dust is pointed out, she shrugs and claims she hasn't found anyone to replace her yet.

For all her discomfort with her position of authority, Lach is respected in Refuge as a source for a quiet, measured opinion and a reasoned approach to conflict. She tends to stay out of the regular squabbles the other council members indulge in, preferring only to insert herself when the arguments turn serious and a thoughtful approach is required.

Kairo

During her travels north, Lach met Kairo, another dragon as awkward and unhappy in his gift as she was in hers. They fell in together, thinking they'd travel for a time and ended up never parting. She finds solace with them as one of the few other dragons that is not in awe of her abilities. Never formally mated, it is nevertheless acknowledged that Kai is Lach's partner, closest friend, and confidant and that harming the wildclaw will earn you a clawful of furious diviner.
