-possibly acquainted with the Grotto(?), in which case Nephrite could have crafted that armor for him

-likes to travel between places of learning to compare historical accounts in different flights; this worked well for him in wind where admission is often freely given and in places like Arcane where public libraries are extensive even if scholars are hard to talk to, but he's finding many institutions are reluctant to admit a random traveler, and especially not one that doesn't intend to stay long and certainly won't make their career there
-so he's had to get creative about his sources at times and has all sorts of knowledge and partially-learned trades

-he says he wants to write a book someday; in reality he is writing several because he can't stick to just one line of inquiry. He always have several journal on him filled with notes and partially written chapters

-can hold his own fairly well in a fight, both because the road is dangerous and because several mentors he's had consider fighting techniques an important part of their cultural history. He doesn't hit particularly hard, though.
