Biography
Ceruno | Druid
"The Gladekeeper provides."
|
Growth
Within a heartbeat of Ceruno's nose peeking out from inside the bush, a sizzle of glowing green energy whizzes a hair's breadth from it.
Cessiphus glares in their direction, a small but sturdy seedling cradled in one arm and a growing globe of energy in the other. "I warned you! You will not harm the seedling!"
"I mean you no harm!" they reply from the thorny bush. "You or your seedling!"
Cessiphus breathes heavily. A half-dozen Raptorik bodies lie unmoving on the ground, two with a branch piercing through them, and one slowly sizzling in a puddle of acid. She clings to the seedling, glancing frantically around for any other sign of danger.
Ceruno chances another peek out of the bush. "I'm not a Raptorik. I'm on your side."
Cessiphus is already preparing another spell, but hesitates on seeing a fellow dragon. She glares at them. "Prove it."
They nods, turning their own gaze to the bush around them. Their eyes begin to glimmer in the light of their own magic, as the bush slowly, slowly begins to grow. Cessiphus watches in confusion for a few moments, until the growth reaches enough of a pace to be noticeable. A small bud slowly unfurls to reveal a large, fuschia flower. Finally, Ceruno slumps a little, and turns their softened gaze to Cessiphus.
She finally relaxes a little and flits over. "Sorry. You startled me. I don't want this little one harmed."
Ceruno looks it over. "An oak tree. And a strong specimen." They shake themself more awake. "Follow me. I know a place where it can be kept safe and grow strong."
As Cessiphus hesitates, still on the guard for more attackers, Ceruno closes their eyes and focuses. The sigil in front of their forehead glows strong enough to be visible. Moments later, a pair of antlers emerges through the undergrowth. Cessiphus audibly gasps as the Nature spirit approaches. Ceruno flits up to rest on the spirit's antlers, and extends a tiny hand towards Cessiphus.
"Don't worry. You and your seedling are in good hands."
