gen 6 night warrior 		Dear mother and father,

is it odd I don't remember you well? You sent me here when I was a hatchling, so maybe it isn't that odd. Even so, I find myself missing you. This clan is strange. I'm a bit afraid this letter is going to be screened before being sent off, so I won't say much on the subject of the way things are run around here. I'm not the only Night Warrior. There are two others, ridgebacks named Rez and Kayrum. I knew Kayrum was my charge as soon as I saw him. I feel almost as if I've cheated the system, having my charge handed to me so easily. I'm not complaining about the free pass, but I hope other dragons know I would have traveled to the ends of Sorneith to find my charge if I hadn't found him here. I'm already afraid the other guardians of the lair think I'm "faking it", but I can feel that he is the thing I must protect, my brother in arms and in distant blood. I do hope my biological siblings are getting along well. Let me know if you hear anything from them. And mother, if you will, please tell me the story of your charge.

Anyway, as I've said, this clan is odd. The Shifting Expanse is so different from home. The clan leader, Bloodwing, doesn't hide the fact she hates water dragons. She thinks our brains are full of cotton and our prophecies are worthless. It bothers me, but I am afraid to face her wrath. She's known throughout the lair for her short temper. There's only one other water dragon here, a gorgeous imperial named Alexandria. They are all elegance and sometimes I find it hard to look away from their eyes. They fascinate me.

And is it odd that I don't feel like a warrior? I know that's my purpose, I know it's in my blood. I am a Night Warrior. Yet I find myself drawn to flowers more than fighting. I'm not opposed to doing battle, but it does nothing for me. Training feels like a chore. Am I wrong to feel this way, or should I ignore these feelings and do what I was made to do?
