 War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing |
Lurlei Everyone thought that he was going to be a great warrior, and so did Lurlei himself until he realized that wars and power are good only in theory. Then he tried to be one of the hunters, but then he realized that he can't kill a living thing at all. He has to eat meat, though, it's an essential part of his diet. After that, he decided to tend to the plants that belonged to the clan. He has a passion for all sorts of plants - edible, poisonous, pretty, plain, flowers, bushes, trees. His knowledge of the plants allows him to beautify the clan, find plants for food and medicine, and even create poisons and weapons (sometimes he's asked to make a poison by some of the higher ranked dragons, and, even though he's all against it, he can't refuse). He's mostly found far away from everyone, taking care of one flower or another. To some of them, he confides his secrets and thoughts. He gets along well enough with everyone, but he doesn't have any close friends - most of the dragons think he's weird. He's had a short relationship with a pretty Skydancer named Estella. She enjoyed how he could find beauty in plants and make them useful, and Lurlei thought she was the most beautiful of all the dragons he's ever seen. But after their children had been hatched, they both realized that they are too different and decided to split up. Then, a traveling dragon appeared in the clan - a spiral named sAnd. She was looking for her relatives but found none in the clan, and she wanted to nest some children there. She wanted to breed only with Fire dragons (there were currently 8, including Lurlei). Out of all the Fire dragons, she chose Lurlei. He was surprised by the offer but agreed. He hoped that sAnd would stay for a while with him, for he got attached to her too soon, but soon after the three baby girls had been hatched, sAnd had left the lair. The daughters left the lair too: two of them went to serve the Tidelord when they became adults, the other one, Cinnamon, left after hatching two kids of her own. Lurlei was alone again, for his grandchildren had left the lair too, and his great-granddaughter is with the other hatchlings and can't be visited by him. But soon, after some time of sadness, Lurlei found love again. She arrived at the lair unexpectedly, and she was the center of everybody's attention because of her beauty. The sun setting, the sun dawning and the color of a ripe fruit were combined in that dragon, and her name was Autumn. Lurlei was completely blown away, but he didn't have the courage to go talk to her. But in a twist of fate, Autumn visited his garden one day and started a conversation with him. They both enjoyed each other's company, and Autumn began to visit the garden more and more often to talk to Lurlei. With them spending more and more time together, soft warm love grew in their hearts day after day. |
