Biography
The Nature Original, Master of Botany
Clan grandma. She always has good advice, being the eldest of the Original Eleven. She cares meticulously for the Clanforest gardens, and is the best forager in the flight. Do not ever, at peril to your very life, attempt to hurt her gardens. She will know, her gardens' residents will tell her-- or they'll retaliate immediately, depends on the days they've had.
Her Botany classes cover both plant care and uses, including poison, healing, edibility, and prank possibilities. Somehow, she has plants from all corners of Sornieth. There are cold and warm, Nature- and Plague-ground areas in her gardens, allowing all manner of plant, sort-of plant, and is-that-a-plant-or-is-it-sentient matter to survive. She's also got some greenhouses in the tunnelled section of the Clan, for more fragile specimens!
Verdant also has plants that no other dragon on the Sornieth has seen before, gifts from both Gardeni and the residents of the Bolthole, not that most of the Clan knows that.
Verdant is, in a word, nurturing. She has tea at the ready at all times, and acted as the informal Therapist before Dandelion settled in. Kirin can be found helping Verdant around her home and garden when there is no more work to be done. The two have a very strong familial bond, despite not being related by blood. Unless Kirin's blood-covered state during their first meeting counts...
Verdant supplies the Healers with most of their herbs. Shineleaf grows a few herself, as a backup plan if Verdant's crop ever fails (as if! she likes to huff at Shineleaf good-naturedly).

Mud, the violently protective Mith that Verdant raised from a larva. |
Suntalon is a recent addition to Verdant's ever-growing home! She's here in search of new pigments to test and possibly bring home to the nearby Seacliff Flock that lives a few clicks south of the Sanctuary. They're fantastic trading neighbors. |
