Biography
Carter
Investigator
Strength ██████████ Magic ██████████ Defense ██████████ Charisma ██████████ Intelligence ██████████ |
Carter carefully wormed her way in through the gap in the sandstone wall. The many narrow offshoots of the Carrion Canyon weren’t always very accessible. However, if an explorer was brave or foolish enough to squeeze through the crevices, then the spaces behind offered a sort of safe haven. It could be worth the risks to slip into the cracks, and see if there was anything hidden there. Mostly, Carter would find little creatures trying to hide when she investigated these often overlooked places. Occasionally she would find interesting geological features or fossils. Rarely, she would find someone’s hidden stash of valuables, or a bandit’s hideout. The scratched up cave entrance had obvious signs of forced entry which tipped Carter off that this was something of interest. A small tunnel with deep gashes opened up into a larger space. Her quickly adjusting eyes were met with a time capsule. Carter found an old, dried tumbleweed bed, a dilapidated crate full of rags and beetles, and an alcove carved into the side wall. The remains of a wooden chair was toppled to the side not far away. In the alcove she found many burnt out candles surrounding a leather bound tome covered in a thick layer of dirt. The matted quill lay in the long dried inkwell. Carter used careful claws to open the cover while holding her breath. Inside was a journal of sorts for an old feller named Crypt-Talon. She didn’t recognize the name, nor could she find any sort of dates on the first few pages. She made a mental note to search clan records for the name, or any documented incidents in the area. Realizing that this may contain a last will or testament, she respectfully closed the book and decided to leave it where it was. At least for the time being. On further inspection of the room, Carter found a rusted copper pocket watch by the bed. Its hands were stopped at around 4:52. She inferred it could have meant that was when the resident was attacked, or that could mean nothing, as the clock did not appear damaged in any other way. There were no footprints other than her own, so this place had likely not been touched. The rags appeared to be a collection of beetle ridden satin tunics with the occasional bandana. Judging from the size of the cavern it was likely home to a Tundra, Skydancer, or Spiral. Carter pulled out her small, trusty note pad, and scribbled her id and the date she found this secret place. She left the note on the alcove under a small rock to keep it in place just before she left to find someone who would be more interested in the contents of the journal. Notes:
