The Arcane Genocide
Centuries ago, an arcane egg hatched. Nobody could ever predict that this egg would lead to the demise of so many innocent dragons. From the moment Kryuji hatched, something was off. He had a fascination of harming others around him using the magic he was slowly learning to use. Kryuji didn't have many friends growing up because of this, so he was mostly alone. He never seemed to care for others anyway, he would sit alone and occasionally twitch as he seemed to blankly stare at the ground or walls.
Kryuji was a silent child, and an only one at the time. But, he did great with the magic he was being taught. His skills and power had quickly begun to bloom, arcane energy surged within him. On the inside, this magic had gone to his head and had started to corrupt his mind further.
His teachers had caught sight of his skills, and highly rewarded him for such. Kryuji grew older over some time, and as he was praised, his lust for power had grown. He wanted to be the greatest, most powerful dragon the world has seen, his soul hungered for it. Kryuji made his way up the ranks unnoticed, although eventually other dragons noticed him and questioned him. When questioned, Kryuji simply stated that he had a strong spirit for magic and arcane energy. Many still didn't trust him fully, but nobody rose up again to question him and his odd tendencies again.
Kryuji was later granted the title of scholar, and given permission to read the literature in the ancient tomes containing arcane energies. He spent days there, days in that library restlessly learning all the magic he could. Days turned into weeks, each second Kryuji grasped a tome tightly in his claws as his eyes scanned each and every page. He didn't sleep or eat, and many questioned how he hadn't died of exhaustion or starvation. Other scholars grew concerned for Kryuji, who hadn't blinked the entire time.
About a few months later, Kryuji went missing for a day. He was completely gone, the books of ancient knowledge left torn on the ground. Nobody knew what he was planning or why, but they soon found out a day later. The way he managed to kill so many is lost to time, but it was described as dragons dropping dead as soon as he walked past. Kryuji wouldn't lay a single talon on them, he would simply walk past and they would instantly fall to the ground. Legend has it, entire towns in the Starfall Isles were wiped out by Kryuji in minutes, and he enjoyed every second of it with a smile on his face.
Eventually, Kryuji was overcome by a team of other powerful arcane scholars. Together, they had to combine their magic to keep Kryuji contained. In the end, they locked Kryuji far, far underground beneath the observatory, never to see the light of day again. By the time he was locked up, he managed to single-handedly slaughter thousands and thousands of dragons.
Centuries later, Kryuji remains chained to the floor of the dim prison, the only thing containing him being the arcane energy keeping the chains from shattering. Guards are forced to watch Kryuji, generations and generations of guards have come and go in Kryuji's life time. Nobody is sure when he'll manage to break free from his shackles, but they pray it won't be anytime soon. For now, Kryuji remains a mystery to the public, only a legend carried on by few generations. His existence is questionable, but all that is known is that he's locked away, deep under the soil.
