Paradox came to the clan on starlit moonless night in the early summer, when fireflies danced about like green and yellow stars of the Earth. when she came up to the lair's entrance the light mysteriously caught in her eyes, making them shine and seemed to distort around her for a moment, calling the attention of both rather bewildered guards. she was taken to speak with Night and Ink and very quickly became a part of the clan.
her's main duty is as a lookout, standing high atop the canopy day an nighht with her Fallout Streak, monitoring the sky and the land. if she finds anything unusual she report back to Night, who usually organizes the response, unless it's something extremely dangerous or significant, in which case Ink is called upon.
Paradox seems to have a unique relation to the ethereal and supernatural. she says in the Shrieking Wilds where she grew up, the constant darkness in some places opened up to things like spirits and ghosts, beings who for some reason she could see while others could not. her closeness to the life that binds together the world is supposedly why such phantoms seem to choose to let her see them. when a dark spirit haunts the surrounding woodland or a lonely spirit lingers in the lair, Paradox is first to notice and first to act.
after several moons in the clan she wandered deep into the woods on a night illuminated brightly by the full moon, and there she stood in a clearing, head tipped to the sky. those who sneakily followed her were contemplating breaking cover to ask what on Earth she was doing when from the darkness wizzed a luminescent pink comet, which Paradox calmly caught with one gentle hand. it's followed her around ever since, lighting the rooms she enters with a pulsating magenta glow.
