Biography
Seisyll “Riptide” Priddy
Boatswain Trait1 | Trait2 | Trait3 Affiliations the Storm’s Eye (former) “Quote here." ― Source here ♫ |
Small and agile, Riptide is most at home in the rigging of ships, making it a crow's "nest" in truth--filled with scraps of silk and cast-off, ripped open pillows that occasionally disgorge a plume of feathers when handled roughly. His lightweight body and dexterous fingers make him perfectly suited to doing repairs and maintenance on the sails and ropes that criss-cross the upper decks of ships both large and small. In storms, he clings to the main mast like a barnacle, sometimes going so far as to tie himself in, because once the thin membrane of his wings gets wet, his thin bones are hard-pressed to keep him afloat, never mind swim against any other kind of tide. The crew on his first voyage nicknamed him "Riptide" because of how he was helplessly drawn in the ship's wake after a prank gone awry, and the name stuck, much to his initial annoyance.

• hopes to one day reunite with an old lover, a fae by the name of Pearlshell he met on one fateful voyage and remained with for some time before being called back to the sea • was just a boy when the Storm’s Eye met her end. It was pure, simple luck that saw him ashore when she sank, sparing him the fate as his first crew • of course, that was far from the end of his seafaring days. Not two months later he was back out to sea, taken on by a new vessel and crew. He remembers the old still, of course, but his life had only just begun and he had to move wrong. He thinks, if he read them right enough in the time he knew them, that’s what they’d want for him anyway |
