When the Gladiola set the anchor in the protected cove, just in sight of the Crafty Clan's lair, Komachi had expected that it would simply be an overnight stay. The captain and most of the crew said they were going to visit the clan and would be back in the morning. This crew had been recommended to him by a friend but they had not been impressive. They made an impression now by disappearing overnight. When he went to ask for them at the lair he was told they simply came through and bought some supplies then went on their way inland.
Komachi was nonplussed. Sure, he still had his ship and its stores and merchandise, but he and the navigator couldn't manage the ship by themselves. He started asking after sailors in the clan. A young sister and brother pipped up saying they had built their own sailing boats and raced each other. Expecting some childish contraptions he went with them to see their boats. To his surprise they were quite good for untrained boat builders.
After a good bit of training Firth and Fen turned out to be quite capable sailors. Several others from the clan joined in the lessons and he was able to put together a crew, if somewhat small they were enthusiastic.
Komachi found that he quite enjoyed his time in the Crafty lair. So much so that he has as yet been uninclined to leave other than the occasional voyage on his ship. He now fully trusts Firth and her crew with his ship and doesn't have to go every time.

This child was born and clinged to his mother. Mystic didn't mind it and even carried him around on her back to make him feel more safe and comfortable. She told him the story of the Crystal Gala, and also about how Wish came to be there. He enjoyed listening to the stories and enjoyed the warmth his mother offered. But he was happy when she teached him how to hunt and a bit on how to fight. When his new Master arrived, he was excited, but nervous. Wanting to see his new home.
