Valdez manages the clan's energy resources. Being a creature composed entirely of oil, however, she hates using fossil fuels. The clan, as a result, is 100% renewable!

Instead of being born, Valdez formed when a deep oil well fractured, making crude oil well up directly from the sand. Unfortunately, the surrounding desert was the site of many historical battles, and the oil well was directly on the site of the last fight between two powerful ancient magicians. The last dregs of their ambient magic infused the oil and brought it to life. She chose to form herself into an imperial, and sometimes grows extra heads to freak people out.

The company that inadvertently created Valdez saw that her crude oil contained much more energy than even the highest quality refined oil and tried to harvest her. The oil they stole could never be replaced, due to the circumstances under which she was created, leaving her permanently injured.

She escaped the company through a series of unspeakable drainpipes, and can now be found contentedly murking up hot springs or eating hydrocarbons.

Valdez can transform into a variety of shapes, pretty much anything you could name, but all are made from pure crude oil. Would not touch that if I were you.
