Their father was a dollmaker. One of royalty, lavished with as many riches as a dollmaker could want. They remembered seeing fabrics of every size, of every colour, spanning the walls and draped over the beams on the ceiling. They remembered clothing made by hand, porcelain limbs, and fake eyeballs floating in jars.

They were made in a group of five, this time. Each of them made by hand, instilled with something unique to each of them. It didn't take long for them to realize that they were not made of the same material their father was just by looking upon their siblings.While he was made of flesh, they were made of wood and joints. One of them an extra set of arms, the other an extra set of eyes.

Loistelias was the one granted extra sets of eyes. Their father's excuse was that with these, they would be more efficient at reading. As such, from the moment they awoke into this life, they were served with books upon books, steadily increasing in size. And while yes, they could see more than their siblings, their sight was not as great as their father had hoped.

Reading regular tomes and books proved too difficult for them, so instead, they turned to runes and inscriptions made by unknown forces from eras ago. They seem more familiar to them than the language of current days, anyhow.

Even if their sight seems to fade more and more the longer they keep their eyes on the languages of old and beyond.
