Biography

Exploited Eminence
”I’m the leader! They should listen to ME!”

CWs: Manipulation & Ableism

Clematis was taken in from a lair in the Gladeveins. Coalasko and Freezerius made her the icon of their cult, and she still is today. She is the one in charge, and her birth mother, though very rarely visiting, is proud of their child’s accomplishments.

Clematis goes by she/her pronouns.

. . .

Ever since she was brought here, Clematis was told what to do. Freezerius and Coalasko told her she was a leader of great things that would do great things. They promised her that they’d help her become the best leader the Serpent’s Children could have. They told her how to act, how to hold herself, what to do and how to treat the others, what to say to have everyone follow her, and thus far it has worked wonderfully. Coalasko and Freezerius are like new parents for her, seeing how Tacit and Prolix weren’t there for long, and they’ve always had her in their best interest. If she follows what they say, she’ll still be in charge, right?

The others don’t know Freezerius and Coalasko pull the strings, though. The gifted spiral that was adopted into the cult early and made it what it is today would be useless without them. As long as Clematis behaves, those two will truly be the ones on top. Such was always the plan.

It wasn’t really Clematis’ choice to keep Omen close. It was Coalasko and Freezerius’. Such an imperfection, such a major flaw in the offspring? Surely they couldn’t get rid of them, the others would question the rule of the cult, so keeping a watchful eye was the best bet. It worked, until Harbinger hatched... who could’ve known how fast a blind dragon could run? It doesn’t matter now, though. Those two are probably long gone by now- the Serpent’s Children has better things to worry about.
