______ Dendrites are artificial dragons created by the top minds of the Tempest Spire. Their purpose is to carry out the commands given to them by their handlers. They send and receive transmissions from each other and their handlers from the spines on their heads and backs; the colors of the spines denotes their current status and assignment (Delighted's blue spines demonstrate her allegiance to our Water clan).

______ Dendrites (from Greek déndron, "tree") are the branched projections of a neuron that act to propagate the electrochemical stimulation received from other neural cells to the cell body, or soma, of the neuron from which the dendrites project. They are often given tasks that are either monotonous or require a high level of attention or precision; their contributions to research and experimentation have been critical to Lightning Flight's success. As such, they are respected as peers and often hold important positions alongside the scientists and engineers of the Flight.
