~A being of pure stardust~
Somaraya was born in the Arcanist's hands. She was created purely of stardust in those spindly palms of the patron of magic, emerging from the magic as a fully formed Fae. Then, moments after her birth, the Arcanist released her into the air from atop the observatory, and the small being of stardust fell to the earth in the form of a small, glowing meteor. The meteor flew to the Crystalspine Reaches, making a rough landing on a ledge before skittering into a cavern in one of the tall spires, rolling in between the massive paws of a Guardian dragon that was sitting with a small band of warriors and travelers that had made their camp within the reaches, the troupe watching with awe as the meteor dissolved and morphed into a glittering Fae. Somaraya said nothing as she looked around the small group of dragons that all eyed her with wonder before her glowing eyes settled on the massive Guardian dragon in front of her. He was staring at her intently. Their eyes met, and the Fae could feel a sort of recognition between them, and she felt herself become in tune with the Guardian. She could tell immediately she was the Guardian's charge and that must've been why she was sent here. But there was something more, she could feel that the Guardian was open to her, letting her communicate with him telepathically, a privilege that Arcane dragons usually only shared with those they trusted most, such as their mates or family members. They shared a connection that transcended what normal dragons would feel with one another. She was destined to be bonded to this Guardian for life, as more than just his Charge. They both felt that. Then, next she knew she was being announced as the Queen of their clan. The Clan of the Lapidians. And while she saw that the clan only had about the dozen of them, they were destined to grow much larger under her and this Guardian's combined leadership in the years to come. The Fae looked at the sky, her eyes looking deep into the cosmos. The Arcanist had created her with the purpose to save this clan. For what reason, she wasn't entirely sure, but Arcanist wanted her to make sure this clan would survive and thrive. No matter what, Somaraya would make sure they survived the challenges thrown at them, no matter the uprising, no matter the cost, even if she had to disguise herself as a while. For years, only Thamadi, the Guardian who she had been sent to, would know her real name, and only the original members of their clan know who she really was. For years she would be known as Saphire and have a plain form, but that was okay. It wasn't forever. Sometime in the future her real self would emerge again, when the clan was at their strongest and most prosperous. Only then, would Somaraya emerge once more and show the clan who they were truly being lead by, the being of pure stardust the Arcanist created to save them, the aspect of the Arcanist himself that was sent to make the Lapidians a clan that would go down in history. |
The Daughters of Light and Darkness
Somaraya knew that being an aspect of the Arcanist, she was more living arcane magic than dragon. Being the mate of a mortal dragon was a risk. However, it was a risk she and Thamadi were willing to take. Because of that, she bore two daughters, one that embodied a gentle light and the other a bitter darkness. Tenelle and Shaneya were light and day, and both ended up becoming distant from the clan for differing reasons....
