Edgar is a madman with a lot of books. A quiet and persistent academic, he splits his time between the library and the lab, searching for answers to questions better left unasked. He is the premier researcher in the fields of cryptothanatology, non-Euclidean botany, and reverse astronomy. There is also quite a bit of magic in Edgar's "science," and his experiments are known to involve more alchemy and necromancy than is generally accepted in most academic circles.

Edgar was born to the Earth flight and raised in Dragonhome, but they say he was never quite the same after discovering some strange markings in a long-forgotten ruin as a hatchling. Those eldritch hieroglyphics provided the inspiration for the unsettling experiments of his early career, but eventually that research hit a dead end and Edgar set out to find new and interesting cults to study.

It did not take long for his interests to lead him to the House of Echidna, where he met and instantly fell for Echidna herself. After all these years, they are still obnoxiously in love, with all the pet names and blood pacts to prove it.

Edgar's personality can at times fool the unwary into thinking he is a normal scientist. He is quiet and reserved, and can easily keep up with discussions of reputable scientific endeavors, especially where biology is concerned. He has a gentle kindness and an insatiable appetite for puns and dad jokes. However, it is never long before Edgar decides to tell a "fun" vivisection anecdote that ruins his illusion of normalcy.

Edgar is a proud, if frequently embarrassing, father and loves nothing more than sharing everything he's learned with all those born or adopted into the House. His terrible dad jokes might even be considered sweet if he ever took off that unnerving, blank-eyed plague doctor's mask.
