She who walks in dreams

......She is called the Dream Weaver. Or the Oracle. Sometimes, amongst the servants and guards, she is the Sleep Walker. ......Unlike Niniel, she is the real deal. Her dreams foretell the future, usually events several moons ahead. Occasionally, her visions offer a glimpse of the far future, but these are few and far in between. |
......She can never summon them through the power of sheer will alone, though she has most certainly tried. Her visions come and go as they please, when she least expects it.
......There are nights of completely dreamless slumber as there are evenings of unending nightmares. She always wakes up shuddering and sweating from these and it takes a few minutes to orient herself. There have been instances of her becoming so lost that she can't separate reality from dreams. In her augmented reality, she's lived weeks and months in the span of a single night. When she was a young hatchling, she feared she was going mad. But the flow of time, as with all things, made her tolerant, if not accepting of her ability. Even using it to her advantage. Next to Tethrax, she is the Empress' most valuable adviser, and her closest confidant.

Destiny Awaits ......She also pines. ......She has been in love with Tethrax for as long as she can remember. She doesn't know exactly how it all started. She only knows that she has denied it for years. Especially to herself. Not even the Empress knows. She will carry her secret to the grave. ......But yearns for him, she does. ......Still, he never notices. He is not one to dwell on such things. Such trivial pleasantries are beneath him. And she respects that. It is simply who he is. His single-minded determination to guard Aeos has kept their little corner of Sornieth safe throughout the years. She admits that is part of his allure. He has dedicated his life to his liege and her kingdom. |

......But she watches. Ever the silent observer, she keeps a close eye on him. Naturally perceptive, she senses a great loneliness that he carries. Being part of the royal upper echelon also makes her privy to his demons. Yes, she knows all about his capture and eventual rescue by the Empress. She wasn't Empress then, but a majestic, sweeping Valkyrie bringing down justice to evildoers. In truth, Ysanne, herself, had foretold the events of that time. Little did they know it then but Tethrax's deliverance from the demon would become a turning point in Aeos' history. As part of Aeos' highest Triumvirate, her devotion and allegiance to the kingdom are on par with Tethrax and Eris, and any vision concerning Aeos is treated with the utmost importance.
......The possibility of him sinking into madness concerns her deeply, both for personal reasons and because of how it may affect the kingdom. She makes it her personal duty to guard against such an event and makes every effort to be vigilant, carefully looking out for the slightest personality change in Tethrax, as well as scouring old texts and manuscripts from an age dating back to when the deities roamed Sornieth, for any possible clue to its cure.
......She never lets anyone know, of course, lest her secret be exposed. She has never been an emotional creature. Normally quiet and reserved, these new feelings have disrupted her thought processes more times than she cares to count, and it is with simultaneous exasperation and exhilaration that she has finally resigned herself to them.
......It is with this thought hanging over her head that she heads over to the lamp-lit table that she forgot to put out last evening, not for the first time. Riordan always teases her about being a fire hazard.
......Mentally, she berates herself - yet again - for getting distracted with thoughts of him. She is supposed to be writing down her latest dream as is her normal habit upon waking up. She has already filled nearly every possible space in her tower, one of the highest in the castle, with scrolls upon scrolls of visions and premonitions.
......Tonight was a little different though. She woke up in the middle of the night with a feeling of impending doom and an irrational fear for Tethrax. Unfortunately, this latest dream was also one of the more vague ones with no clear visual imagery, just emotions and bursts of light swirling around in the void. Still, Ysanne would be a fool to ignore her instincts, so she hunts for her journal, buried under piles of scrolls, and proceeds to jot down her impressions of the dream before they fade away with the morning light.

Ysanne is kind of out of this world, and I can't quite pin down why. Yeah, there's that celestial aspect with the blue/gold-ish colours, but I think the closest reason I can get to is that the 'whole can be greater than the sum of its parts'. I just love how the capsule matches her jaguar accent colour and also how the sakura flowerfall seems to be bursting out of the blossoms on her accent. When I scroll down to her lore, it really just fits super nicely....oh noooo, but I am just so sympathetic to her plight with the unpredictable visions and the problem of Tethrax. And yet, Ysanne has a fortitude and strength to her that I absolutely admire.

the green and gold is so beautiful. i've never seen a dragon wear those fins so well! the color her accent adds is the perfect touch, it makes her lighter and so delicate looking.
