Avaritia - The Sin of Greed

Avaritia

Royal Bloodline; Priestess of the Gate

__________________________
Avaritia came to the lair as a curious young dragon. She needed to know things, needed to explore. Hungered for it. Her upbringing, much to her discontent, was a sheltered one. She learned of her ancestor, Naomi; how she guarded the gates from standard Sornieth to the planes on which lived the elemental deities.

Avaritia, however, never really felt that kind of connection. Her siblings and father all seemed very into the happenings and workings of things. Her? Well, she assumed that whatever genetics linked her to this thing that made her special had straight up skipped her. So she slowly became disinterested with learning about her heritage and what it meant to be a descendant of Naomi. Though she learned all the proper practices, rituals, and ways to make her supposed abilities work, they just... never did. Sure she could swing a scythe, sure she knew the practical notes on how to manage portals and communications, but the full breadth of her ancestor's power escaped her.

And yet - with her pedigree in hand, she learned that clans and dragons would pay simply for her presence.

Revealing only that she was a descendant priestess to the Gate Keeper bloodline, even if she was never asked to demonstrate anything more than her lineage, got her free shelter and food anywhere she wanted to go. Suitors lined up by the dozens, and Avaritia was happy to take advantage of each and every one of their kindnesses. True to her name, she would turn them down for something new that sparked her interest, never once even considering the idea of settling down to nest - and still craving more.
