Warden
Frigid Apparition Wardens Created by the Icewarden himself, Wardens are creatures from old myths believed to haunt the Fortress of Ends. Not quite alive, those chosen haunt the depths of the mountains for millennia, keeping watch over the frozen prisoners that stare sightlessly from their prisons of ice. While it is a Warden’s job to make sure that no prisoner ever breaks free and escapes, they are trapped themselves, adorned with chains to remind them of their duty, and each one carrying an hourglass with endless sand ticking away the seconds in their own penance. Monster As the clan expands and reaches ever deeper within its home in the frozen mountains of the ice realm, more and more peculiar creatures emerge from their slumber to inhabit the Tempest clan. One such creature was Erebus. As the clan members dug deeper to clear up new dens and vaults, macabre ice sculptures were uncovered. Some argued that those were merely grisly works of art left over by the gods of an era long past. Others thought that the statues' eyes are entirely too lively for comfort, and would rather leave them buried in their ice prison. Abandoned in dark galleries in the depths of the mountains, the frozen prisoners look over the clan's most precious secrets. And deep in the shadows lurks a hulking form, a dark imperial made of shadows and forces not comprehensible to the clan's elders. Said apparition can be often spotted late at night, when darkness makes it impossible to see in the dark maw of the deeper vaults. His chains are a reminder that he is a prisoner there as sure as those he watches over. His sand-glass running without ever seeming to come to an end - instead, it slowly trickles an infinite amount of sand without ever piling up, as the seconds slowly tick towards his everlasting vigil. Tamed Fascinated by the strange ghoul that inhabits the lower levels of the mountain, a small apprentice defied the high-priestess' orders and descended to the lower vaults to study the creature. Charmed by her curiosity, the warden has warmed up to the little skydancer. Waiting for her visits makes the time pass, if not faster, then mayhaps a bit easier as he looks forward to their long talks of the world above. Trapped as much as his charges, Erebus is not allowed to leave his post, forever doomed to roam the endless hallways and pay witness to the Icewarden's terrifying creations. So it is through Nyx's eyes that he experiences life again, losing himself in her visions of the world above that has changed so much, and yet remains the same.
