BIOGRAPHY
"And the Christmas bells that ring there Are the clanging chimes of doom. Well, tonight, thank God, it's them Instead of you" No one quite knows what Bleak and Bell really are. Their true identities are lost to time. There isn't even a Draconic word for it. They appeared one night during a punishingly cold winter, so close together that they seemed like an Emperor, completely intertwined, before reforming into their current guises. It's clear that they aren't a Pearlcatcher and Skydancer, but any dragon asking questions seems to come away more confused. Both Bleak and Bell live together in a balding evergreen tree on the edge of the Grotto's northernmost side. They are rarely seen, except during the day before Christmas, when their hatchlings join Twig's nursery. Sometimes, they can be seen wandering around during blizzards and particularly cold days in winter. |
Personality Bell will rarely speak, except in soft whispers in your ear and sad, melodious songs. She moves only through shadows, and it is incredibly rare to see her in the light of day. Her wings are nearly translucent, and when the cold light of a winter moon shines through them, it looks like blood dotted on the snow. She is more slow moving than her mate, and runs so cold that most dragons feel a chill when she is near. |
On one mythical night each year, the beings known only as Bleak and Bell hatch their hollowed nest. Inside this nest are creatures that help to usher in Christmas cheer. They represent the feelings of anxiety and the fear of the unknown that so many dragons feel before sunrise on Christmas Day.
