Biography
She had the world at her fingertips, anything she could ever ask for. Demure and sweet, dainty and graceful. She had an elegance that could rival anyone’s, a beauty unparalleled. She never had a need for anything, and yet, she still felt a want for something more.
It was her singing that first drew them in. They flocked to her like bees to honey, clamoring for her attention. And though she smiled and humored them, flattered and charmed, Cadence felt a hole in her life that wouldn’t be filled.
In a world of poise and sophistication, there was something so dreadfully lonely about fame. Even as the crowd bustled around her, people laughing and chatting, she felt more alone than ever. Her smiles never quite reached her eyes, and her laugh always too high to be real. But no one ever noticed. And as days passed and she wowed the world with her talents, she let her days settle into monochrome.
She never meant to see him.
She spotted him in a clearing, twirling and dancing to a silent orchestra and a spectral audience. He dipped and swerved, spun and skipped. Unheedful of grass stuck to his scales, or the dirt stains on his clothes. Wind rustled in the leaves, the calls of birdsong in the forest, and through it all, he danced.
He was beautiful.
A wondrous sight in a world of monotony. And she knew, without a doubt, that he was special. There was something about him that drew her in, made all her walls fall and her reservations crumble. With each passing hour, each passing day, she found herself falling further and further. Until they were inseparable.
He was the apple of her eye. The muse to her duet. And she loved him.
