Noir was born a Fae, but somehow she knew this must change. From the moment the last of her shell fell away, Noir felt an unyielding temptation, a silent call to a cause, though she knew not what it was. She left her nest and made an appeal to the gods. She had to know what this incessant, nameless desire was. The Lightweaver came to her in a dream and answered her question: what she suffered was the Search. Noir was given a choice: she could have all impulse to embark on the Search driven from her, or she could embrace it. She chose: Noir awoke a Guardian, and set out to find her Charge.

She traveled all the way to the Starwood strand. When she found the lair of Chamae's clan she felt a peculiar sense of significance. Deciding to wait and see if anything would come of it, Noir took refuge with the clan. The very next day marked the arrival of Forge, and Noir knew him to be her Charge.

Her Charge and former mate. He likes to try to keep her away from any major incursions, which Noir does not appreciate, and he doesn't like listening to her when she tells him to be careful. Their relationship is solid, but extremely exasperating.
