EMBLA is the first, the progenitor, and the mother. Even as a hatchling the jokes among her clutchmates were that she was an old woman. Her dry sense of humor is easily missed, and her tricks and jokes subtle. She set out on her Search early, driven by some strange purpose she could not entirely define. The journey took her far and wide, to many different Flight lands, but in the end she found herself back in the Tangled Wood and it was there that she found Ask, and in the end, her purpose. She had not known that the thing she would find herself protecting would be another dragon, let alone such a strange thing as a Tundra, but in the instant their eyes met both knew.

Fussy and bossy, Embla uses both her size and her sheer force of personality to have things JUST SO in her lair and woe betide any hatchling, of her own progeny or otherwise, who sets a claw out of line. Luckily she has Ask, patient, benign Ask, to keep her in line otherwise no one would get a moment's rest.
