Tellus is the actual guard of the garden. On paper at least, because Rinth does everything that involves throwing out misbehaving garden visitors, and never has any problem with that. Tellus takes it in stride, he's relaxed about that, and always friendly with Rinth, even though he's as short-spoken with Tellus as with everyone else, despite their shared background in the war arts.

What Tellus is thoroughly serious about is the guarding of the garden's borders during the transitions of the magical protections throughout the seasons, when the changeovers leave the garden less well protected.



Encountering another garden inhabitant strolling along the fragrant rose bushes, grouped together by color, you strike up a conversation. This one is much friendlier, which is a welcome respite after the grumpy ice dragon in a cave. He's quite funny as well!

You dare to ask about the season protectors. He musters you for a bit, and then explains.

'The season protectors have large amounts of magical ability and reserve, and they nourish and uphold the garden's protections in the season that their magic is strongest in. This has allowed the garden to flourish for a very long time now.'

You thank him, and head onwards. This is apparently not only a shared protection, but protective spells that allow for different magical elements to power them? It's not something you've ever heard before, and while pondering this for a bit you can't resist to occasionally bend down to smell some of those lovely roses.
