She and her sister, Dogma, were orphaned in the outskirts of the Southern Icefields. With her sisters stubborn bullheaded personality and Cutlass's precision and observant one, they managed to barely make it by. But they were struggling being juveniles. For some time they noticed a large figure often in the shadows watching them. Sometimes, food would mysteriously appear when the juveniles woke. The thing that lurked near them seemed to have left it. The two believed it must have been some kind of spirit. While relieved for the help, they still were frightful of it.

One day, Dogma was gravely injured fighting a Permafrost Impaler. Unsure of what to do, Cutlass ran to ask the spirit for help. And the "spirit" heard her cries. She took them both to a cave and helped mend Dogma's wounds. While she recovered, their guardian savior, Witchhunt helped guide Cutlass around the area. Pointing out food sources and herbs for medicinal purposes. When Dogma made a full recovery, Witchhunt, though noticeably uncertain, seemed to decide to make a home for them all. She guided them to a lair within a glen tucked away, hidden from the rest of the tundra.

While her sister, Dogma, sought a more head-on approach to become stronger and left to fight. Cutlass stayed behind and did all she could to become stronger to repay Witchhunt and keep their lair protected.
