B I O G R A P H Y

______ Aroha was born one of four siblings, although unfortunately two of her siblings, a brother and sister, died shortly after hatching. They were simply too weak to survive. She grew up with her surviving sibling, a sister named Koa, (meaning Joy in Maori)

______ Koa and Aroha's childhoods were happy ones. They would spend their days on the plateau, planting flowers and spending blissful nights curled up together in their mother's nest. It became easier to heal from the pain of losing their siblings, as long as they had each other

______ In their adolescents, Koa confided in Aroha,
explaining that she was trans, and had always felt that way on the inside. Aroha, being the kind of person she was, accepted this immediately, and the next day even helped Koa to shave down one of her horns with a nail file. One day a rude male Pearlcatcher in the clan by the name of Blackclaw verbally attacked Koa, but Aroha stepped in, outraged, and slashed her claws over his face. That soon made him back off, he now bears a scar, and never dares to mess with them ever again.

______ Today, Aroha is an artist. She likes to carve little wooden toys for hatchlings, weave beautiful tapestries, and make elegant pots and vases.
