"Would you be interested in a story, this fine night?" The nocturne coughed up another blob of blood, before he glared up at the Pearlcatcher atop him, anger and loathing clear in his expression.

An amused expression on his face, Wrath tutted at the injured Nocturne, "My, my, there's no need to look at me like that. I just simply asked if you'd like to hear a story. If you didn't want to, you could have just declined my offer." Just as the Nocturne was about to open his mouth, possibly to curse at the Pearlcatcher, a childish voice rang out in the empty meadow. "Father? Are you there?"

Panic and fear evident on his face, the Nocturne looked up, just in time to see Wrath's ears twitch, and his lips perk up. "No, no-" The Nocturne grabbed Wrath's legs, as he pleaded, "Please, not my daughter, s-she's still so young! I'll tell you everything, about the dragons we smuggle, the auction places, everything, just leave my daughter, please-"

The cracking of bones sounded, followed by a howl of pain. The Nocturne shakily cradled his now broken claws close to his chest, as he tried to curl up on himself. Wrath stared at the Nocturne's pitiful attempt to protect himself, with great interest, his delight evident on his face, as the Nocturne let out hisses and whimpers.

Finally, Wrath crouched down, and grabbed the Nocturne's jaw, forcing him to look Wrath in the eye. A low chuckle escaped from him, as the Nocturne's face twisted in fear. "You misunderstand me, Sir Nien. I, do not care about whatever illegal business you are dealing in. I do all... This, because I want to."

The Nocturne, Sir Nien's, face turned pale, as he watched Wrath burst into hysterical laughter. "Y-You...! Monster!" Wiping a non-existent tear from his eye, Wrath huffed. "Oh my, was that meant to be an insult? Why, for me, being called a monster is the biggest compliment I could ever receive."

Suddenly, the cracking of a twig sounded, before a childish voice whispered out, fear evident in her tone. "F-Father? W-Was that you just now? Are you hurt?" Eyes wide with glee, Wrath chuckled. "Oh my. My mind just gave me an idea for a wonderful game. I hope you'll allow me the pleasure of playing with you, Sir Nien."

Saying that, he gently grasped Sir Nien's wings, before swiftly twisting them. A pained scream escaped from Sir Nien, and then another as his feet too, were broken. Wrath caressed Sir Nien's cheek, as he whispered, "You must understand, I had to make sure you wouldn't run away, or try to interrupt the game."

Sir Nien whimpered, as Wrath slowly got up and headed into the direction of the nearby forest. Even with his broken limbs and wings, he desperately tried to crawl towards the forest, fervently muttering, "Move, move, you need to move. She's still there, move, you useless body, MOVE!" Suddenly, a scream rang out from the forest, and Sir Nien could feel his heart drop. The seconds ticked by, before Wrath appeared again, dragging a little hatchling behind him, who was struggling. Sir Nien's heart sped up, thudding loudly, as Wrath stopped in front of him, and grinned down at him. "Shall we start now?"

The young Nocturne was held up by her neck, whilst she thrashed around, trying to escape. Wrath's grip on her neck slowly tightened, as the little Nocturne clawed at him weakly. Sir Nien clinged to Wrath's feet with his broken claws, begging, "Please, just let her go, please-"

A choked screech sounded, before the young Nocturne stopped moving. Wrath sighed, as he let go of his grip on her, "Shame, the game should have lasted longer." The unmoving body fell on Sir Nien, as the latter's eyes widened, slowly, before he screamed. "No, No, NO! ELISE! WAKE UP!"

Sir Nien shook the young Nocturne, Nien's, body, repeatedly, fervently whispering for her to wake up. Alas, the dead never do wake up, and soon he broke into sobs. "Young... She was so young... She wanted to see the world, I-I promised, but now..."

Wrath watched disinterestedly as the Nocturne continued to mutter to himself, before finally turning towards him, hysteria and anger evident in his eyes. "You, You did this..! You're at fault, you!" Wrath rolled his eyes, "Yes, yes, it's my fault. Are you quite sure your eyes are well, Sir Nien?"

Growling, Sir Nien lunged at Wrath, but before he could even scratch the other, his neck was grabbed and snapped. A melodramatic sigh escaped Wrath, as he watched the body fall back, landing next to his daughter. "How unpleasant. I was looking for something to entertain myself, and now both toys are broken. Alas, I must search for new toys again, it seems. How troublesome."

Muttering to himself, he left the lonely meadow and the two 'broken toys', in search for something else, that could perhaps catch his fancy.
