Largely retired from his days in the coliseum, Castor is now responsible for maintaining the safety of the clan. He organizes defense, keeping track of all dragons with available fighting experience.

Castor has also taken on the unofficial role of organising the clan at large- Delphine was a fairly inattentive, inefficient leader when she remained at the clan head. But while she remains the official head of the clan, Castor is the one who keeps things running.

He still occasionally ventures out into the coliseum with his old fighting partners, when he can find the time amidst assigning jobs and keeping track of who's doing what.

Castor's charge is a ruby about the size and shape of a duck's egg, which he keeps nestled into the lining of his throat. He can disgorge it at will, and he does so whenever he has time alone.
