Biography
Makala
|| Illusionist || Sly Trickster ||
"Never trust your senses around me."
|| Illusionist || Sly Trickster ||
"Never trust your senses around me."
|
Makala is frustratingly laid back and goes with the flow of anything and everyone, while being sly and nudging dragons around him in the direction (or situation) he wants them in. He is thankfully not malicious in nature but has trouble understanding right from wrong. He specialises in skin-bound illusions (skins & accents) but does play around with other types like tricking senses such as hearing and touch. He is known to disapear without a word and come back weeks later with stories of his adventures and new illusions to cast on clan members. He also likes to illustrate with his illusions and he becomes more skilled after each trip. He is quiet in a crowd but can't shut up if there's only one dragon besides him. He likes to observe others and has unbound curiosity about many subjects, the mind being his passion. He lacks a decent moral compass, so he has to rely on others to tell him that "No, you can't stab that creature to hear it's cry. Please." He does know that some things are wrong, he just doesn't understand why it is so, or why he should care at all. |

Sulann, friend |
Makala has a complicated relationship with his birth flight. Soon after his hatching, the dragons of the clan he was born in noticed his habit of lying and unrepentant nature. No amount of explaining or punishing would make him understand that there were rules to be obeyed. Just a hatchling at that time, Makala was much slower than his peers at understanding the world around him. His birth clan hadn't known what to do with him, so left him to find his way in the world. After travelling half of the continent, Makala was invited to stay at this wintery clan. He was warmly welcomed as a guest and he kept coming back here between his travels. After a year, Al'Krynn invited him to stay permanently as a clan member. He accepted but it didn't change much of his routine. Curiously, his lack of morals led him to study philosophy extensively, and he recently found a true passion for the subject. Currently, his body is frozen underground in the clan's hibernal den. His consciousness still travels the world accompanied by the spirit of his familiar, Willow. He is the cornerstone to the clan's current wellbeing, as they chose to stay in hibernation forever, living in an illusionary world created by him and supported by the collective effort of the mages and psychics. He has an odd friendship with Sulann, the most talented psychic of the clan. They butt heads constantly and exchange fond insults. They both hail from Shifting Expanse and like to share stories of their isolated childhoods; stories they dare not tell to their other clanmates. Over the years, they became confidants to one another. Sulann is also the only psychic strong enough to contact him regardless of how far Makala is from the clan. |
