IT IS I WHO INHABITS THIS SANCTUARY. Nobody in Brightclaw quite understands what HABIT is, and he's not really interested in telling them. All they know is that the young Bogsneak showed up with the Spiral, Rabbit, claiming they were brothers and that they were going to live there now. The Shade-touched subclan led by Fairuz was immediately attracted to the brothers, but HABIT laughed them down, telling the Shadewitch, "You, you really, you really think that you're the boss? You really think that you can just... tell us what to do, and we'll do it. They might, maybe. But me? Not so much." Nobody's quite sure why that chased the Shadewitch off, nor what HABIT meant, but the Shade-clan now tiptoes around HABIT and his brother, giving the two a wide berth as they do... whatever they do, which is mostly sitting curled together, whispering to each other, HABIT often sharpening a knife. Sometimes, quietly, Rabbit will call HABIT "Evan," but the Bogsneak looks murderous if someone else dares to even try calling him the same. It turns out that HABIT is an ancient entity, born during the First Age from the animosity between the Gods, and that he's since thrived off war and aggression of all kinds. He has a particular fondness for infighting between clans and the grand battle of dragons versus Beasts, and has chosen to inHABIT a dragon vessel because of dragonkinds' general stance against the Shade. HABIT mostly dislikes the Shade because it wants to return the universe to nothingness, which takes away the beautiful chaos of hate and war, but he also considers the Shade competition, claiming, in his own words, "I don't take kindly to someone else possessing people, turning their brains to mashed potatoes, and making them kill everyone they love. That's my shtick."
