Trouble Gum is a cowboy alchemist. Eye of newt is hardly a strange ingredient when one is hanging out in the grasslands and deserts, looking for newts. Although practiced and careful with his alchemy, Trouble is relaxed and cheerful around the other Killjoys. The gang enjoys his chill attitude, since he is so different from their usual high energy level.

Trouble Gum does not spend much time with the other Killjoys, even though he is a beloved member of the gang. He prefers to be alone in the wastes for the most part, and the gang knows he will be back sooner or later, with a new song, a new batch of reagents, and a handful of tall tales about braving the winds alone in the rotrock.
