There was an angel living in his dungeons.

Well- not his dungeons, exactly. More of his father's. But still, it was hard to miss the beautiful pastel pink Skydancer, who had once wielded a bow with the strength and grace of a God. It nearly broke Nyissas' heart to see him reduced to what seemed to be a mere tool, nothing more than a way for his father to get what he wanted.

Every time Nyissas caught a glimpse of him, he couldn't help but rub a paw over his arms, wondering how it would feel to be so helpless. To be bound and treated as nothing more than a dog.

And so, as the months went on, the prince became more and more infuriated. He began hatching a plan. No one, and especially not the angel of love, deserved to live the way he currently was. (It definitely wasn't love he felt towards the angel. Was that even possible, falling in love with Cupid himself? The prince didn't think so. That couldn't be possible.)

Finally, one morning, the prince stole the angel away, taking him deep into the woods surrounding his castle. And Cupid's bow was restored to him. The angel seemed extremely grateful, but Nyissas still expected him to leave him far behind. He certainly would've, if someone had kept him prisoner for as long as his father had.

But instead, the angel extended a paw to him and asked the prince to join him.

Nyissas' heart leaped into his throat, and he nearly began crying right then and there. "Of course," he stammered out, a blush rising to his cheeks. (True, he had already mentioned that he wanted to come along. But that was different.) "Of course I'll come with you," he said, when he was confident his voice wouldn't crack.

And the angel smiled at him. "Come then. Let's go far away from here."

"Cupid, what are your dreams for the future?"

"Mmmh?" The angel sitting next to him startled for a moment, before relaxing back onto the bed they had made for themselves. They had set up camp on the roof of an old ruin, staring up at the sky and the millions of stars above. "I'm not quite sure. Just... just leaving captivity was enough for me."

Nyissas flushed at that, gaze returning to the stars above. Cupid had been a lot better as of late, more relaxed and free, more likely to smile. But still, Nyissas felt an overwhelming amount of guilt. I should've never let that happen in the first place.

"What about you?" Cupid asked, drawing Nyissas from his thoughts.

Nyissas' claws curled together. Being with you, he wanted to say. But being... boyfriend to the angel of love felt almost forbidden, in a way. "I'm happy right now," he finally said, stealing a glance towards Cupid, who looked lost in thought. I'm happy just sitting here with you, staring at the stars together.

"You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I feel comfortable here, with you." Nyissas blinked, and glanced over at Cupid. The pink angel seemed... flustered? Was that even possible? Still, the prince's tail curled in delight.

"I'm glad." Nyissas said, turning his attention fully on the dragon besides him.

In the future, he wouldn't have as much time to spend idly chatting with the angel, instead spending time helping out the other Refugees from the Aehan Clan. But for now, before the guards of his past began to hunt him down, he was happy. Happy to spend his days travelling with the Angel of Love.

Notes

-Lowkey vaporwave aesthetic.

-Probably listens to vaporwave when he's all alone.

-Fears he will end up like his father, and spends as much time as he can helping out those who are less fortunate than himself.

-His Frozen Goblin's name is Cassius.

-Has a love for stars, roses, and electronic things. He's trying to convince one of the hackers to teach him how to code.

-Honestly, he kinda misses being rich and powerful? But he's okay without it.

-Yeah, he's totally in love with Cupid. He knows it, but he's worried Cupid doesn't reciprocate his feelings. And that it might be weird for him to be in love with the Angel of Love himself.

Lair Description

Nyissas' room is near the gardens, where the smell of roses is constantly in the air.

His room is filled with items that would be considered for richer dragons than he currently is, and it is unknown how he acquired said items. (It was not Cupid who left them at his doorstep. Totally not.) A laptop sits at the corner, and a wireless speaker is barely visible in the corner of the room. The walls are painted with electronic colors, and stars and planets are a common theme. Blankets are piled everywhere, as Nyissas gets cold often.
