He grew up a dreamer, watching the sky and how the colors change things around him. Color became a constant for him, wanting beautiful, bright things to adorn his room, his clothes. He would watch his older brothers, but when their creations stopped and his Clay brother fell into a quiet, angry depression, he realized it was his turn to create something beautiful. But he did not want to create something that was only beautiful. He wanted to make something meaningful as well. So he began to paint, to create dyes to color fabric, to do all he could to bring color back into his clutchmate's life. ??? has the ability to imbue emotion into colors he creates with paint and dye, and in some cases, it can be a healing item for any that wear or gaze upon the item long enough. It can also be of destruction, causing others to fall into anguish and rage when they encounter his work. Though he was unable to help his brother, he hopes to help others in his life's journey.
The Ruinkeepers are ancient.
The first children of Lightweaver, Ruinkeepers are the original imperials the deity of Light bestowed upon Sornieth. Made from her own flesh and bone, they are massive and towering, even larger than what is commonly known as today’s Imperials.. Most don multiple limbs, be they arms or wings (sometimes even a forked tail.) Their antlers are long and tinted with magic that flows through them. They do not shed these horns every year, but once every century. Ruinkeepers lived long before Lightweaver banished her children, before the Hewn City became cursed. While most of the large breed left and began to selectively breed themselves smaller, lest they become titanic Emperors, Ruinkeepers chose to stay, defiantly setting up within the Hewn City. Over the years, when the city became cursed and fell to ruin, so did these Imperials. Their scales were tainted to deep obsidian, so as to blend in with the City. To find one another, they began inscribing Runes along their sides. The powerful magic that lies within them glows through the Rune scars, signaling to other Ruinkeepers where they are. Sometimes this is seen as a warning, but other times, it is an Imperial reaching out for the companionship of an another ancient. Their magic is classified by the color of which their runes glow. Yellows signal the ability to heal and to help. They are guards and priests, seeking to enlighten and teach. Browns and oranges have passive magic. While they cannot control it, their magic is always active and usually has a neutral effect on themselves or their surroundings. And reds are the colors of warriors. Their magic is deeply offensive, used to battle and do harm. Red Ruinkeepers are more likely to join clans in battle. They believe through battle they keep their old ways of fighting alive. They are few in number now, as many died from sorry and grief, and others died as dragonkind and beastkind alike took to hunting them. (After all, what is more glorifying than killing an ancient one and taking their antlers for a trophy?) Phanuel and Azrael guard the ruins in which they live, striving to keep their culture and olden ways alive and well. This is the first time in which they have decided to branch out and contact the outside world. It is time to teach others, but also it is time to find companionship. They have grown weary of their solitude. |
