Biography

Shade Witch subspecies

Sombra didn't used to be this way. What was she before, you ask? Well, that's the thing: it hardly matters what she was before since what was before no longer exists, at least, according to what she says now.
Sombra was born on a dark misty night, and when her parents saw her they were overjoyed. Colored in purples so dark they seemed nearly black, her parents new she was destined for greatness, although what the considered greatness others would consider a horror. See, her parents belonged to a cult of Arcane and Shadow dragons who worshipped the Shade, and while her parents themselves hadn't been touched they hoped one of their offspring would be, and they could just feel that she would be the one. They named her Sombra, and with a twisted, delighted grin on their faces they dumped her in the woods where the semi-sentient Shade resided as soon as she was old enough to handle the transformation. The Shade saw her, and instantly loved her in the evil, twisted way only something like the Shade could. Her colors, her eyes, and her magic, oh, her magic was something to behold, so rich and ripe for corrupting. The Shade instantly swarmed the dragonet, filling her to the brim with corruption, evil, and darkness like it rarely had before, and in the process it shredded the budding personality of the dragon inside.
Recently, she's gained a reputation for being as bad of a Shade Witch as they come, but when she got caught in one of the worst storms she's ever been in she new she'd need to recover. Half delirious with exhaustion and fever, she flew, of all places, to the stupid desert. She woke up in the den of a growing clan, being watched by two dragons; a gray guardian looking on in concern and a fae female who looked at her with such a frozen rage in her eyes she wondered that she didn't kill her on the spot. While she's been recovering, the guardian keeps coming in to talk to her and despite all she's done to drive him off, he keeps coming back. She's amazed at his stubbornness, and has begun to realize something: The more she talks to him, the more the old her heals and grows. She has something now that the real, true her never hoped for: a shot at fighting to be the kind of dragon she wanted to be, the kind of dragon she would've been had the Shade not forced her into the dark.
