Dianthus hails from a nature clan and wandered the Viridian Labyrinth for long years. After a particularly time intensive molting he lost track of his clan as they hadn't followed the usual pattern and he became lost. Yearning for company again he contemplated his situation and ultimately decided to be adventurous and leave his home for another Flight. He crossed the straight between the Viridian Labyrinth and the Tangled Wood, traveled west and into the Scarred Wasteland and promptly got lost again. He survived by finding a clan of Plague Snappers who reluctantly let him join them until he could leave the Plaguebringer's domain. Once he reached the Windswept Plateau Dianthus kept wandering until he ran into a hunting party led by Kaze. She offered the Clan's hospitality and Dianthus greatfully accepted. He was immediately taken with Ivy and Acuminata and their grove. Loving the idea of a "home away from home" Dianthus wished to add to it and asked Kaze and Vens to join the Clan permanently. He was allowed to and has since begun to grow medicinal herbs in carefully regulated parts of the grove. Dianthus has also found joy in creating an herbarium for the library to store all his knowledge of plants for his new clan.
Combat isn't a favored activity for Dianthus, but he will defend his clan with teeth and talons. His scales are tough and hardened by age and he can further boost his defensive capabilties by using magic. While Dianthus is slow and content to take attacks meant for his clan mates, once he sees an opening his attacks using nature-enhanced slashes are unstoppable.
